I'm Preston, a CPA with over a decade in consulting. I previously spent six years in tax consulting at PwC where I also became a leading internal expert on automation. I channeled that into my business ventures now, where I help accounting firms and professional service companies adopt AI and automation.
LET'S TALK
I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, went to Oklahoma State, got my undergrad and Master's in Accounting, dominated intramurals where I caught a TD pass in Boone Pickens Stadium and won the free throw competition in Gallagher-Iba Arena, met my future wife, and became a CPA. My wife would like me to specify that those are in no particular order of priority.
Then I spent six years at PwC doing tax consulting. Pretty early on, I decided I'd rather build automated systems than do the boring, repetitive work myself. This turned out to be extremely beneficial for my PwC career, as I became recognized internally as an automation expert. I built systems for internal projects that saved over $50,000 annually, contributed to multi-million dollar projects, and sold others that contributed to clients reducing monthly and quarterly closes by more than 40%.
Now I live in Katy, Texas with my wife and two children. I run my own consulting practice where I translate my expertise on AI and automation into real business impact for accounting firms and professional services firms. I also write a free weekly newsletter, The Appreciable Asset, delivering practical AI and tech news and insights for accountants. And I spend way too much time thinking about fantasy football, which has converted into generational success that even Tom Brady couldn't fathom.
